ET-94 Space Shuttle External Tank: A Timelapse Journey across Los Angeles
On May 21, 2016, ET-94 the only surviving External Tank of NASA's Space Shuttle program was moved 15 miles through the urban sprawl of Los Angeles. Starting in Marina del Rey, where it was taken off a barge from New Orleans, it criss crossed the city for 18 hours, ducking under power lines and negiotating intersections designed for much smaller vehicles at a speed never faster than 5 mph. The 15 story, 32 ton tank will be on permanent display along side the Space Shuttle Endeavor at the California Science Center
